| This newsletter has three main goals: (1) To help committee members stay informed about the RSNA Technical Exhibition. (2) To outline committee responsibilities. (3) To help improve the exhibition at future RSNA meetings.
The Technical Exhibition at the RSNA is monitored on a continuing basis by a team of professional floor managers whose activities are coordinated by the Director: Technical Exhibits. These floor managers are each assigned responsibility for a portion of the exhibit hall where they (1) assist exhibitors during set up and dismantle; and (2) monitor compliance with RSNA Exhibitor Rules and Regulations during set up and exhibition hours. Floor managers are to be assisted by the Technical Exhibits Committee Chairman, the members of the national Technical Exhibits Committee and the members of the Local Committee on Technical Exhibits. These volunteers are able to evaluate the appropriateness of exhibits and demonstrations from a medical perspective, which a layperson is unable to do. Committee responsibilities: - To be familiar with RSNA rules and regulations for technical exhibitors.
- To make a tour of the assigned technical exhibit area during each scheduled four-hour period monitoring and reporting any violation to the exhibit help center staff.
- To monitor housekeeping and safety of the exhibit floor and report any negligence.
- Report violations and negligence directly to the Technical Exhibits Committee Chairman or the Director: Technical Exhibits for enforcement. Committee members should not approach exhibitors directly.
- To evaluate general attitudes, traffic patterns, concerns or interests of exhibitors as well as those of professional registrants.
- To be familiar with the product information systems and to monitor their importance and effectiveness to the registrants.

Alexander, M.D. Chair, RSNA Technical Exhibits Committee | RSNA annual meeting attendees come to see healthcare education at its finest. Unsurpassed scientific offerings and a technical exhibition like nothing else in the world have helped to make it the world’s largest medical assembly. A record number of professional attendees last year — more than 27,500 — demonstrates that healthcare leaders look to RSNA more than ever to set the pace as healthcare advances with great strides into the future. Physicians, researchers, executives, administrators, medical physicists and other professionals rely on this event to bring them the products and services they will use for their own institutions. RSNA 2008 is the best chance to meet them face-to-face. Exhibiting at RSNA 2008 will give your company a voice among the leaders in the industry. You won’t want to miss this opportunity. I look forward to seeing you in Chicago this November. Jonathan M. Alexander, M.D. Chair, Technical Exhibits Committee
