- Taxicab Service
Taxicabs are available on a first come, first serve basis from the lower level curb front of O'Hare and Midway airports. Shared ride service is available. There are no flat rates because all taxicabs run on meters. The cab fare is approximately $45 from O'Hare and $25 from Midway to the downtown area. - Public Transportation
Use public transportation as a fast and convenient way to travel to and from the airports, avoiding traffic. The CTA train system is called the "L", short for "elevated." It connects O'Hare (Blue Line) and Midway (Orange Line) airports with downtown Chicago in about 30 minutes. Follow signs to the rail station. The one-way fare is currently $2.00.
